When does Wide Eye actually launch?

We're targeting a direct-to-consumer pilot in late 2026, starting in NYC and around college campuses. The waitlist is how we'll allocate the first production run — founding members get first access, founder updates, and 20% off the first drop.

Is the caffeine natural — and how much is 80mg, really?

Yes — caffeine comes from green coffee or matcha, never synthetic. 80mg per bag is roughly a strong espresso or a single 8oz coffee. Enough to power through a study session or a long shift. Not enough to send you into the jitters.

What's actually in it — and what's not?

In every bag: non-GMO popcorn, coconut oil, allulose & monk fruit (zero glycemic impact), real cold-brew or ceremonial-grade matcha, sea salt, natural flavor.

Never inside: added sugar, seed oils (no canola/soy/sunflower), synthetic caffeine, artificial colors or flavors, gums, fillers.

Final formulation pending technical validation.
Is it gluten-free? Vegan? Allergens?

The product is being formulated to be naturally gluten-free and plant-based. Made on shared lines, so cross-contact details will be confirmed before launch. Contains coconut. Final allergen panel will be locked with our manufacturer.

How big is a bag, and how many servings?

Launch SKU is a 1 oz / 28g single-serve bag. One bag = one 80mg dose. We'll add sharing-size and multi-pack formats once the single-serve is locked in.

Where will I be able to buy it?

Is this a real company or a school project?

Both, then real. Wide Eye started as a high-school business plan that won Oregon DECA + qualified for internationals, placed at Battle of the Bronx, and earned a $30K seed round from Fordham Foundry. We're now in pre-launch with a real product, real food scientists, and a real plan to ship.

Built by a college kid who got tired of choosing.

Wide Eye started in high school as an independent business project. It won DECA states. It went to internationals. But when I got to Fordham — juggling 18 credits, late nights, and a full social life across Manhattan — I realized the project had become a real problem worth solving.

Every morning was the same trade-off: another $7 latte, another sugar bomb energy drink, or another tiny bar that left me hungry an hour later. None of it felt like a real snack. None of it fit how I actually lived.

"What if you could snack on your caffeine — instead of drinking it?"

That question became Wide Eye.

Why popcorn?

Popcorn is the rare snack that's already cleaner than its alternatives — high fiber, low calorie, naturally whole grain. It's also a snack you actually feel after eating. Bars and gummies are tiny. Drinks are liquid. Popcorn is a real, satisfying, shareable handful.

So we built a sweet kettle-corn-style snack with 80mg of natural caffeine integrated into every bag. Same satisfying volume. Same crunchy, sweet experience. But now it powers your day instead of just filling time.

Where we are now.

Wide Eye is in pre-launch. We've raised our first round of capital through the Fordham Foundry's early-stage venture program. We're working through technical validation, partnering with food scientists, and testing prototypes. We expect to launch direct-to-consumer in late 2026, starting with NYC college campuses and expanding from there.
